I've decided to take *coughstealcough* a thread idea out of F&G and make it dedicated to games. nya~

Basically every day (somewhere between 11PM 10PM-Midnight EST Time) I'll pick a game (or game related topic) to talk about ranging from the well known to the brutally obscure. If I'm not active on certain days, the topic can go for another day (which is rare since I lurk everyday).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 1: Onimusha (series)

I've always been facinated by Samurai's and the art of Bushido. The 1st Onimusha really hit the nail on the head, albeit with a demonic hammer. nya~

I have the first two.
Got 'em discounted for $5 each.

Love 'em both.

Cool deal. The 2nd game is very unique in that your actions towards the other lead characters constantly influences the storyline continuously. Even going so far as to alter certain boss battles. nya~

I never really got that far in the 2nd, but it was cool enough.
I can't remember if I beat the first or not, though...

I recently bought the Onimusha collection which has the first 3 (despite already having the first one).
I personally love these games. Went through the first again and now I have to start on two. Great games.

Good topic btw Zam. Very original idea unlike some lame imitators *coughFailconcough*

Yeah the trilogy is pretty good. I wonder if anyone here has ever played Onimusha: DoD besides me? I personally found that game to be more brutally challenging then any of the previous games. It also certainly brought a decent end to the series as well (tying up all the loose ends and such). nya~

I have Onimusha 1 and 2, but every copy I get of 3 freezes at certain points. But I've played and beaten 4 though. HUGGING AMAZING. I found a cheap way to win against the final boss.

Are your disks scratched? If not its probably your machine.
As for the final boss, I think everybody has *cough. nya~

No, it's just the discs I keep getting. I don't want to end up buying the Onimusha Essentials thing for $30 when I only need the 3rd game. Though I might end up doing so and giving my old versions of Onimusha 1 and 2 to my best friend.

Think the only one I've played was 3, but I was pretty terrible at it. Still fun though!

I sometimes question the historical accuracy of these games though...

I've owned the first one for about 5 or 6 years and have never touched it. Maybe I will someday. Everyone says they're good games.

You really should.
They're great beat 'em up/action games.

Y'know, I think I will.
After I beat Shadow Hearts, then Dawn of Mana, I'll jump into Onimusha and see how I like it =)

I've actually never played an Onimusha game, though I do want to. I should pick up the collection one day.

The historical accuracy is like that of Shadow Hearts. In other words, secret history that is not true.

In a sense Onimusha is Capcom's answer to Legend of Zelda. Expect lots of puzzle solving on top of elemental weapons as well as a hidden Master Sw..er I mean Bishamon Sword. nya~

Hm on second thought its probably more accurate to call it Resident Evil with Samurais. nya~

That's exactly the thought I got while playing the first.

The first Onimusha also reminded me of another PSX game called Soul Of The Samurai (which, I felt, was pretty epic).
